How it works
From registration to driving home your win — three simple steps. Watch the short clips and follow along.
How a live auction works
Welcome to Auction Locator LLC. In this tutorial, we will show you how to participate in a live auction on Auction Locator LLC.
First, open the vehicle listing and carefully review all available information about the vehicle, including photos, specifications, and auction details.
On the right side of the page, you can see the current bid amount, the auction timer, and the bidding section.
To participate, enter your bid amount and submit your offer. Once your bid is placed, the system will instantly update the auction status.
During the auction, other participants may place higher bids. If you wish to remain competitive, simply increase your bid and continue participating.
Keep an eye on the current bid amount and the auction countdown as the bidding progresses.
As shown in this example, multiple bids are placed throughout the auction, and the vehicle price gradually increases as participants compete for the winning position.
Continue bidding until your offer becomes the highest bid.
When the auction ends and you are the highest bidder, congratulations — you are the winning bidder.
After winning, please wait for the vendor sale confirmation and invoice issuance.
Once the confirmation is received, our team will contact you and explain the next steps, including payment instructions, required documentation, and vehicle delivery arrangements.
Thank you for choosing Auction Locator LLC, and we wish you success in all your future auctions.
Create your account & verify identity
Go to the registration page and scroll down to the account section. If you're registering for a dealership or company, check the “Business Account” box. Enter your full name, phone number, and email address. Then type your city, select your country, and create a secure password — repeat it in the confirmation field. Next, move to the Identity Verification section: upload a clear photo of the front of your driver's license, then the back. Make sure both images are sharp, fully visible, and not blurry. When both files show as “Ready”, review your information once more and click the blue “Continue” button.
Review & sign the Membership Agreement
On the Membership Agreement page, carefully review all the member information already filled into the form — your legal name, address, phone number, and email. If anything is incorrect, go back and update your details before continuing. Scroll through the agreement sections: inspection standards, payment policy, delivery services, warranty program, return policy, and ownership & legal. Read the conditions and requirements before signing. At the acknowledgment section, check the box confirming you've read and agreed to all terms. Then use your finger or mouse to sign inside the signature area, just as you would sign a normal document. Once your signature is complete, click “Sign & Submit Application” at the bottom of the page.
Find a vehicle, bid, and win
Once your registration is completed and your account is approved, you can browse the auction inventory directly from the main page. Click “Inventory” in the top navigation — this section contains the full vehicle catalogue with all available lots. Search by model, make, VIN, or keyword using the search bar, or browse the listing below. Use the filters on the left — category, vehicle status, model year, mileage, price range, and transmission — to narrow things down. Click any vehicle to open its full lot page, where you can review all photos, detailed specifications, the current bid, lot status, and extra information. If the vehicle is live, click “Bid Now” to enter the live bidding section. Before placing a bid, review the current price and remaining time, then enter your amount and submit. After the auction ends, if you're the winning bidder, wait for the vendor's final sale confirmation and invoice. Once the sale is confirmed, one of our representatives will personally call you and guide you through the next steps — payment instructions, documentation, pickup scheduling, transportation, and delivery.
Auction Buyer FAQ
Straight answers for buyers — no jargon. Tap a question to expand.
Repo vehicles are cars, trucks, and SUVs recovered by banks or lenders when the previous owner stopped making payments. They are sold at auction — not through a traditional dealership lot. On Auction Locator LLC, every repo lot includes a 22-point inspection, free CARFAX, photos, and a dedicated US agent before it goes live.
Buyers often save 20–40% compared with similar retail listings because lenders prioritize recovering the loan balance, not maximizing retail markup. You still get inspection data, vehicle history, and agent support — but at auction pricing. It is a practical option if you want an inspected used vehicle without dealer overhead.
Auction Locator LLC is open to verified individual buyers and licensed dealers who meet our registration requirements:
- US residents with a valid US mailing address for title and delivery
- 18 years or older with a government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
- Verified account — email, phone, and ID review completed before live bidding
- Ability to pay in full if you win — wire transfer or approved payment within 48 hours
International buyers, unverified accounts, and suspended bidders cannot place live bids. Dealers may register with a dealer license on file for volume purchases.
We require a clear photo of your government-issued ID during registration to keep the platform limited to verified buyers only. Repossessed vehicles are sold on behalf of banks and lenders — they need confidence that the winning bidder is a real, identifiable person or licensed business.
Your ID photo is used to:
- Confirm your legal name matches your account and payment method
- Prevent fraudulent bids, straw buyers, and account sharing
- Protect legitimate buyers from bad-faith bidders who never intend to pay
- Meet lender and compliance requirements for high-value vehicle sales
ID images are encrypted, reviewed by our verification team (usually within a few hours), and never shared publicly. Browsing and CARFAX requests do not require ID — only live bidding does.
A verified buyer has completed email confirmation, phone verification, and ID review. Only verified accounts can place bids or use Buy Now during live rounds. This policy exists because repo auctions involve lender-owned assets worth thousands of dollars — verified buyers reduce no-shows, payment defaults, and disputes. Once verified, your status shows on your dashboard and you can bid immediately when a round opens.
- Browse live rounds — dozens of vehicles closing together every 5 minutes.
- Register free to place bids (takes a few minutes).
- Review photos, 22-point inspection, and request your free CARFAX.
- Bid live during the round window (12:00 PM – 6:00 PM ET). All lots in a round share the same countdown.
- Win → pay in full → vehicle released → shipping → title follows.
Your lot specialist stays with you from first question through delivery.
Every 5 minutes a new round opens. All lots in that round share the same countdown window — Monday–Thursday 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM ET.
- Minimum increment: $100 above the current high bid
- Proxy bidding: Enter your max bid — the system bids for you in $100 steps up to that amount
- Round timer: When the countdown hits zero, the highest verified bidder wins
- Extensions: If a bid is placed in the final 30 seconds, the lot may extend briefly to allow counter-bids
- One account per person: Shared or duplicate accounts are not permitted
You must be signed in and verified before your bid counts. Guest users can watch live activity but cannot bid.
Buy Now ends the auction immediately at the listed price — no waiting for the round timer. It is available on most lots when the seller/lender has set a fixed purchase price above the current bid.
Bidding lets you compete during the live round. You may win below the Buy Now price if competition stays low. Buy Now guarantees the vehicle at the stated price the moment you confirm — useful if you do not want to risk losing the lot.
Both options require a verified account and full payment within 48 hours of winning or purchasing.
If another verified buyer places a higher bid before the round closes, you will see the current price update in real time. You can raise your bid at any time before the timer ends — there is no penalty for being outbid. If the round closes and you are not the high bidder, you owe nothing. Watchlisted lots stay on your dashboard so you can track similar vehicles in upcoming rounds.
Yes. Placing a bid is a binding offer to purchase. If you win when the round closes, you enter a legal purchase agreement and must pay the full sale amount within 48 hours.
Failure to pay may result in:
- Forfeiture of any deposit or buyer fees
- Account suspension and loss of verified status
- Relisting fees charged to your account
- Permanent ban from future auctions
Only bid on vehicles you are prepared to buy. Use the shipping calculator and review the inspection before bidding.
The winning bid (or Buy Now price) is the vehicle purchase price. A documented buyer fee may apply on some lots — typically $299–$499 for processing, title coordination, and platform services. Any applicable fee is shown on the lot page before you bid, not added afterward. There is no fee to register, browse, or request CARFAX. Shipping is quoted separately via the calculator.
Yes. Full payment is required before your vehicle is released for shipping or pickup, and before the lender begins title release. Browsing, bidding, and CARFAX requests are free — you only pay if you win.
Repossessed vehicles are sold on behalf of banks and credit unions that hold a security interest in the vehicle. Standard practice for repo auctions requires payment in full before release because:
- The lender must recover the outstanding balance before transferring ownership.
- Title cannot be released until the lien is satisfied — partial payment leaves the vehicle legally encumbered.
- Full settlement protects you: funds are verified, the sale is recorded, and your agent initiates a clean title transfer.
Once payment clears, your agent schedules delivery (typically 5–8 business days) and tracks your title within the 10–30 business day window listed on each lot.
Shipping begins only after full payment clears. Nationwide open-carrier delivery then typically takes 5–8 business days. Enclosed transport may add 1–2 days. Distance, vehicle size, and your ZIP code affect both price and timing — use the shipping calculator on any lot page for an estimate before you bid.
Repossessed vehicles are sold by lenders who must clear the existing lien before releasing ownership. The physical title is not at the auction site on day one — it is processed after full payment clears. Most buyers receive the title within 10–30 business days of payment. Your agent tracks status and notifies you when it ships. “Title Absent 10–30 days” on each listing reflects this standard repo timeline, not a problem with the vehicle.
On any vehicle page, tap Request Free CARFAX Report below the photos. Enter your name and email — the report is sent within minutes. Registered users can also save reports to their dashboard. Every lot includes CARFAX at no extra cost.
Yes — registration is free. An account lets you place live bids, save watchlists, track shipments, and contact your agent. You can browse all vehicles as a guest; you only need an account when you are ready to bid or buy. Before your first bid is accepted, you must complete identity verification — including a government-issued photo ID — so only verified buyers participate in live auctions.
Yes — verified buyers can bid on multiple lots in the same round. Each lot is a separate auction with its own timer and price. If you win more than one vehicle, you must pay for each in full within 48 hours. Your agent can coordinate multiple shipments. We recommend setting a budget per lot — winning several vehicles at once is allowed but increases your total payment obligation.
You receive an email confirmation and invoice for the full sale amount. Pay in full within the stated window (typically 48 hours). Once funds clear, your agent releases the vehicle for shipping or pickup and coordinates delivery to your address. Title documents are initiated by the lender and follow within the 10–30 business day window.
